GARDINER — From 6-9 p.m. Friday, July 19, Water Street will come alive with music during Walk the Beat, a night of free music and commiserating presented at participating businesses.
Restaurants, galleries, clothing stores, martial arts centers, and Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center will host musical groups from throughout Maine. Blues, gypsy jazz, bluegrass, folk, contemporary and rock-and-roll will be on tap.
The night will culminate with a musician jam starting at 8 p.m. in the mini park next to Johnson Hall. In case of inclement weather the jam will be held inside Johnson Hall’s studio theater.
The event is free, but tips will be gladly accepted by musicians. For more information, call 207-582-7144 or visit www.johnsonhall.org.
