Spark’s Ark to visit library

MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s Terrific Tuesdays summer programs for kids ages 2-14, the library will host Spark’s Ark with David Sparks at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9.

Spark’s Ark is a collection of live animals that have been rescued and rehabilitated by David Sparks of Windham. This educational program with Spark’s Ark live animals is for kids of all ages and will be held at the Calvin Lyons Hall, in the basement of the Mexico Town Hall building. Although the program is free of charge, there will be a donation box available for anyone who would like to contribute to the program.

Summer school at Region 9

MEXICO — Anyone wishing to complete their GED, upgrade their skills for college or obtain their high school diploma is welcome to attend summer school at Region 9 Adult Education, 377 River Road.

To enroll plan to attend Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, July 9, 10 or 11, from 8 a.m. to noon. The program will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 9, through Thursday, Aug. 15.

The present version of the GED is about to expire. If you have taken tests in the past, they will be invalid after December and all tests will need to be retaken. Consider spending the summer working on completing your last tests, so the old ones are not wasted.

Stephens High Class of 1951

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1951 will hold its July luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Covered Wagon.

Lithuanian Club meets July 10

RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon Wednesday, July 10, at Sam’s. The group will resume its first Wednesday of the month meeting schedule after this Fourth of July holiday.
