LEWISTON — Patricia B. (Bernard) York, died peacefully on July 2.
She was born March 7, 1930, in South Freeport, to Marjorie Woodrow and George Bernard. Pat attended Freeport schools and graduated from Freeport High School in 1948. She greatly enjoyed attending her class reunions and keeping close touch with childhood friends over the years.
Pat married Stanley York from Pownal and happily spent her life as a homemaker and raising their three children, Helen, Stanley Junior “Kim” and Kevin, all deceased. Pat resided in Hampton, N.H., with her family, until the early 1990s, before returning to Maine and then moving to Florida, where she lived for several years, until moving to Lewiston, where she died.
Pat leaves two surviving sisters, Barbara Percy of Marblehead, Mass., and Carol Whitmer of Tampa, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Sue Rowe, who lovingly cared for Pat throughout the remainder of her life in Lewiston; Pat also leaves her only grandchild, Caitlin Hurd of Connecticut, daughter of Helen and James Hurd, whom she loved and was very proud of.
Her predeceased brothers and sisters are George Jr., Anne, Louis, Richard and Miriam.
Pat’s family would like to thank all of the L/A Kidney Dialysis Center staff, where she was treated three times a week and all of the wonderful staff from the Montello Manor for their dedicated love and care.
