PORTLAND — Fire crews are on the scene of a boat explosion and fire in Portland.
The incident happened Friday at at East End Beach.
Witnesses tell WCSH-TV (http://on.wcsh6.com/126TNVh ) that the explosion in the rear compartment occurred after a man started the boat. He dove in the water when his clothes caught on fire. He and a woman were was taken to Maine Medical Center by paramedics.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.
Details on the cause of the explosion were not immediately known.
