PARIS, France — The civil wedding of Anne Constance Simonnot and Nathan Paul Douglass was held in Paris, France, at 10 a.m. at the Mairie (city hall) of the 15th Arrondissement, on May 18, officiated by the deputy mayor. The couple was engaged on April 25, 2011, at Lanvallay, near Rennes, France.

The bride is the daughter of Marie-Pierre and Herve Simonnot of Rennes, provincial capital of Brittany, France. The bridegroom is the son of Neria and Paul Douglass of Auburn and grandson of Roland Douglass of Auburn.

Friends, family and witnesses attended the ceremony in Paris. A church wedding, the major celebration, is planned Oct. 18, at Saint Martin d’Ambleny, with reception following at Chateau of Vic sur Aisne, France.

The couple met in New York City in February 2010, where the bride was a financial analyst at Pernod-Ricard and the bridegroom was a fourth year medical student at Columbia University. The bride graduated from HEC in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She resides in Paris awaiting a permanent visa.

The bridegroom graduated from MIT in 2006, from Columbia University Physicians and Surgeons in 2011 and is a third year resident in orthopedic surgery at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif. They look forward to being together after the lengthy visa process is complete.
