RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Francis Gauthier was celebrated Saturday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Robert Vaillancourt was the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Hosea,” “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “Come to Me” and “Fly Like a Bird.” The Old Testament was proclaimed by granddaughter Janessa Maurice. The New Testament was proclaimed by son-in-law David Maurice. Prayer of the faithful was offered by daughter Ann Gauthier Maurice. Offertory gifts were presented by daughter Ann Gauthier Maurice and grandson Brent Maurice. Personal reflections were shared by son-in-law David Maurice. Interment with Military Honors was in St. John Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Maurice, Janessa Maurice, Jerry Amereau and David Polonsky. Services were by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland, and SG Thibault Funeral Home.
