BRUNSWICK — The Naumburg Trio, composed of three winners of the Naumburg award, a prize for the best young classical musicians in North America, makes its Bowdoin International Music Festival debut in the Festival’s Friday, July 19 concert. The Shanghai Quartet and a duet of the renowned harpist June Han and violist Dimitri Murrath will also perform.

Festival Fridays concerts are held at 7:30 p.m. in Brunswick High School’s Crooker Theater. Tickets are $40.

Frank Huang will return to the stage Monday night, July 22, to perform Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Minor, Op. 80, accompanied by Constance Moore.

Moore will also join Jesus Rudolfo Rodriguez on stage to perform Johannes Brahms’ Sonata for Viola and Piano in E-flat Major, Op 120, No. 2.

Yang Xu will open the concert with Ma Sicong’s Inner Mongolia Suite. Pianist Tao Lin will collaborate.

Monday Sonatas concerts are held at 7:30 p.m. in Studzinski Recital Hall on the Bowdoin College campus. Tickets are $40.

The Festival’s July 24, Wednesday Upbeat! concert will provide an opportunity to hear faculty ensembles performing works by Bedrich Smetana, Paul Schoenfield, and Josef Suk.

Wednesday Upbeat! concerts are held at 7:30 PM in Studzinski Recital Hall on the Bowdoin campus. Tickets are $40.

The Charles E. Gamper Festival has presented the works of 20th century and contemporary American composers, including the Festival’s composers-in-residence, guest composers, and top participants since 1965. Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. on July 25, 27, and 28, in Studzinski Recital Hall.

Thursday’s concert will present an all-European program, with works by Kenneth Hesketh, Andreia Pinto-Correia, Sofia Gubaidulina, Michel van der Aa, Kaija Sariaaho, Igor Rogalyov, Thierry de Mey, and Tom Peterson.

Saturday’s concert will present an all-American program, with works by Robert Beaser, Kathleen Bader, Arlene Sierra, Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez , Andy Akiho, Derek Bermel, Matt Zavortink and Andrew McManus.

Sunday’s concert will present an all-Asian program, with works by Karen Tanaka, Chen Yi, Chinary Ung, Unsuk Chin, Kamran Ince and Jungyoon Wie.

Artists of Tomorrow student concerts, featuring the Festival’s top students, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday evenings, and at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Studzinski Recital Hall. The Bowdoin Festival’s educational series, Bowdoin Festival Extra, continues with a Saturday morning violin masterclass, a Sunday evening concert, and two instrument demonstrations. All Bowdoin Festival Extra events are free and open to the public.

The Bowdoin International Music Festival’s 2013 world tour will continue Friday, July 26, with an all-French program featuring the works of Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, and Camille Saint-Saens.

Violinist Frank Huang will return to the stage with cellist David Requiro and pianist Constance Moore to open the concert with Ravel’s Piano Trio in A Minor. Pianist Peter Basquin will then be joined by Janet Sung (violin), Rami Solomonow (viola), and Amir Eldan (cello) to present Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 45.

Following intermission, the Bowdoin Festival Orchestra will perform Saint-Saens’ Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 22, with Claire Huangci as soloist. Arie Vardi will conduct.
