LEWISTON — The nonprofit community group Grow L+A will present redevelopment plans for Bates Mill No. 5 at a three-hour meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Callahan Hall in the Lewiston Public Library.

Gabrielle Russell, president of Grow L+A, will be joined by the group’s vice president, Peter Flanders, to share updates, explain the project and outline the group’s accomplishments to date.

The meeting will include two discussion group sessions, seeking feedback from guests representing multiple sectors. Grow L+A, which began with a focus on Bates Mill No. 5, called “Five-2-Farm,” envisions reuse of Mill No. 5 that meets many of the community’s needs and addresses the vital role local food systems play in the community.

Limited space is still available for the meeting, which is the public’s opportunity to hear updates, offer feedback and show support for the reuse of Mill 5 through the Five-2-Farm project.
