DETROIT — A man was found dead in a house in Somerset County on Thursday morning, and police are calling it suspicious.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said the man’s body was found by members of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and Pittsfield police.
Lt. Chris Coleman of the Major Crimes Unit said that a neighbor called police for a well-being check on the man at 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
When police arrived, the middle-aged man was found dead at a Main Street residence. A neighbor who asked to remain anonymous said fireworks were heard in the early-morning hours.
The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, McCausland said. State police and the major crimes unit remained on scene at noon.
