Dempsey Center free workshop

BRUNSWICK — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing will offer a free therapeutic workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Shattered” will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center.

When a cancer diagnosis is received the emotional, physical and spiritual impact can feel “shattering.” Tookie Bright, LCSW, will facilitate this therapeutic group workshop and use a transformational art activity as a metaphor for the cancer experience. Participants will have an opportunity to explore and reflect upon loss, struggle, gratitude, hope and the vast emotional landscape that colors the cancer journey.
