LEWISTON —  The local Kora Shrine Nobles and 2013 Lobster Bowl have donated $7,500 to the Shriners Hospital for Children-Boston to purchase five new laptop computers and two new desktop computers to support the Child Life Services at Shriners-Boston.

Patient rehabilitation is both fun and educational at Shriners Hospital for Children-Boston. Children can now surf the web with their new computers and, at the same time, receive the therapeutic benefits of maneuvering the mouse around the keypad and utilizing the touch screen technology.

According to Christen Bradbury, Child Life senior therapist, “the kids are already enjoying the new gear.”

The computers also feature adjustable tray tables, which enable the patients to change the angle of the computers, allowing them access no matter what position they need to be in as a result of their injury. The computers touch screen mode permits further access to patients who are unable to use the touch pad or mouse.
