AUBURN — Auburn D.C. Sherer will read her book, “The Cat With the Question Mark Tail,” to children at the West Paris Library at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, as part of the library’s “story & art” summer program.
This engaging story is about a really curious kitten named Tigger, and what she learns about the world around her camp, called “Tigs Digs.” The kitten lives on Twitchell Pond in Greenwood with D.C. Sherer and her husband, Fred.
“The Cat with a Question Mark Tail” can be purchased at the library event and is one of several stories for children that D.C. has written. Other titles include“Merry Marvelous Mermaids,” Pig at the Fair,” (about a pig named Oxford), and “E is for an Elf Named Jolly.”
In addition, D.C.’s story, “Marley’s Walk” was included in the “Goose River Press Anthology.” Goose River Press is located in Waldoboro.
The water color illustrations for “The Cat with the Question Mark Tail” were painted by another Greenwood resident, artist Joanie Kintz. After the reading, Kintz will teach the salt watercolor technique to the children.
In addition, children will design and paint flags that will be displayed at the library for the rest of the summer. The program runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
Kintz’s artwork, “Mostly Watercolors,” continues at the library through August.
