AUBURN — The 077th Composite Squadron, Maine Wing Civil Air Patrol, recently held a promotion ceremony at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport.
Cadet/Master Sargent Alexandra Hebert was presented with her General Billy Mitchell Award.
Hebert joined the squadron in June of 2008 and has been a leader in cadet programs. This latest award, which is the first milestone of the cadet program, is the General Billy Mitchell Award which is earned after the completion of the first eight achievements. Once the cadet earns the award he or she is promoted to the grade of cadet/2nd lieutenant.
The Maine Wing Commander Colonel Dan Leclair was present to promote Hebert to cadet/2nd lieutenant .
Hebert is going to be a senior at the Poland Regional High School in the fall. She loves to hunt and fish, and plans on making the U.S. Air Force her career, working in the EOD of a K-9 unit.
According to Hebert, the Civil Air Patrol Cadet program has given her the leadership skills and confidence to become a stronger person and hold a positive attitude for her future. She will be eligible for advanced placement to the grade of airman first class when she enters the U.S. Air Force.
