Local resources at Lisbon Federal Credit Union served Lisbon High School student, Patrick Dexler, left, well in his research for his future career path. “I was very pleased to see a high school student so intrigued about their future career path,” said Selma Basic, right, marketing officer at LFCU. “Patrick showed much interest in the field of marketing and asked specific questions pertaining to marketing. He wanted to know what classes he should take to help prepare him for a marketing-related job. I shared with him that it is a field that requires experience in various branches — such as advertising, public relations, graphic design, writing in media and so on. Patrick questioned what type of person is best suited for a job in marketing. Marketers are very people-oriented, with good written and oral communication skills; they need to have fresh, original ideas and the ability to implement their ideas in an effective manner.”
