GREAT LAKES, Ill. — Machinist’s Mate Fireman Lucas Manchester, a 2011 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, recently completed his boot camp requirement at Recruit Training Command.

During these eight weeks, Manchester completed physical conditioning, learned the Navy chain of command, custom and courtesies, hands-on training, laws of armed conflict basic seamanship, shipboard communication, weapons training, shipboard damage control and firefighting skills. 

MM FM Manchester is now at Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn., to be trained for his rate job as a machinist’s mate.
