FARMINGTON — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who left Walmart on Saturday night with $1,500 in merchandise that he did not pay for.

Farmington Officer Justin Blais said Monday that he went to the Wilton Road store at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a theft complaint. At one checkout there was some confusion as to who was paying for items a man had scanned but not paid for, he said. The man indicated he needed to contact someone, his wife or his wife’s mother, to pay, Blais said.

As shoppers formed a line behind him and amid the busyness of the store, the man apparently walked out with two carts full of merchandise and left a third one loaded with items behind.

Police released a photo of the man seen on the store surveillance camera and is asking that anyone who recognizes him or who has information about the incident to contact the Farmington Police Department at 778-6311.
