Blueberry Feast set for Aug. 10
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will hold their first Blueberry Feast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the church annex on High Street.
Breakfast featuring blueberry waffles or pancakes, sausage or bacon, juice and coffee or tea will be served from 7:30 to 10:30. The cost is $6, $3 for children under 12. Baked goods with a blueberry theme will be sold. Fresh-picked blueberries will be available to purchase.
Public supper at ‘Green Church’
MEXICO — A public supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”), 163 Main St.
The menu includes chicken pie, potatoes, carrots, peas, fruit platter, brownies and ice cream, and beverages. Adults, $8; children under 12, $3. Takeouts will be available after 5:30 p.m.; call 364-8603.

Aug. 17 is Culture of Compassion
RUMFORD — Culture of Compassion 2013 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the ball field on Falmouth Street across from Aubuchon.
There will be groceries, a kids’ zone, lunch, health and dental fair, live entertainment, prizes, school supplies and gently used clothing while supplies last.
The event is free for all citizens of the River Valley.
