AUGUSTA — The University of Maine at Augusta College of Arts and Sciences and UMA Senior College have announced the 2013-2014 concert schedule for the 11th season of “Concerts at Jewett.”

The series features talented local Maine performers representing a variety of musical forms.

The following artists will perform:

2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 — Gordon Bok with Carol Rohl. Enjoy the warmth and gentle humor that this internationally acclaimed singer shares with his audience.

2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 — Chiharu Naruse, classical pianist. Portland Press Herald’s music critic, Christopher Hyde, called her “a world-class artist who would grace any concert stage.” (Snow date: Nov. 10).

2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 — A Christmas Concert: The Downeast Brass with Jay Zoller, organist, playing South Parish’s historic 1866 E.& G.G. Hook Organ at South Parish Congregational Church, 9 Church St., Augusta.

2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 — Family Folk Festival: The Gawlers and the Boardmans. Fun-filled concert of Downeast, Celtic, and Quebecois folk music with fabulous guitar and banjo picking, fiddling, and singing. Advance ticket purchase recommended. (Snow date: Jan. 12).

2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 — 1 p.m. pre-concert talk. George Lopez, classical pianist. Featured across the globe as a recitalist and soloist with orchestras. Hailed by the LA Times for his “…musical perspective, continuity, and kaleidoscopic colors”. (Snow date: Feb. 23).

2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 — Joelle Morris (mezzo soprano) and Bridget Convey (piano): An Exotic Afternoon – a musical Journey Around the World. (Snow date: March 16).

2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 — Boogie 2 Shooz: Patti-Jean Cousens and Pamela Jenkins. – “A high-energy jazz duo that can rock the house or sweep you away with a sweet love ballad. (Newsweekly)”. Advance ticket purchase recommended.

2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 — Don Campbell Quartet: An Afternoon of Dan Fogelberg Music. His recent CD “Kites to Fly” celebrating this music has been a great success.

All concerts, except for the one on Dec. 14, are at UMA Jewett Auditorium.
