EAST DIXFIELD — After a successful summer season of country music and youth music scholarships, the Countryfolk Music Theatre on U.S. Route 2 will close out the season from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, with “Countryfolk Reunion No. 2” and Johnny Cash Appreciation Day that features a Johnny Cash look-a-like contest and Country Sunday.
Over the years Countryfolk has hosted several look-a-like contests including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Dick Curless, Minnie Pearl and Elvis. Countryfolk has two covered stages, dance floor and spectator building so music is performed rain or shine.
Countryfolk continues Country Sundays each week thru the Labor Day closing weekend celebration. Music is always free and for families, is operated by volunteers and has a pot luck meal each Sunday. New musicians are welcome.
