AUGUSTA (AP) — A 19-year-old Augusta woman has been charged with stabbing her 58-year-old boyfriend during a fight.

Police were called to Washington Street just before midnight Wednesday for a report of a domestic dispute.

Lt. Christopher Massey says when officers arrived they found a man had been stabbed in the back with a steak knife.

Massey tells the Kennebec Journal that the man, whose name was not made public pending the ongoing investigation, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Constance Jean Marie Mason was charged with aggravated assault. She was held without bail at the Kennebec County jail. It was not clear if she had a lawyer.
