Family reunion at Mercer center

MERCER — The 122nd Howland and Searles reunion will be held at noon Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Mercer Community Center, Route 2 and Beach Hill Road.

Those attending are asked to bring donations toward lunch, an auction item and family information to add to records.

There will be a place for kids to play. All relatives are welcome.

Movie to be shown at amphitheater

WELD —   The movie, “Bambi 2,” will be shown at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Mt. Blue State Park amphitheater.

Maine author and former Allagash River supervisor Tim Caverly will present a multi-media show on “Allagash Tails and Tales” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the amphitheater.

The presentation details experiences and stories while he lived along one of the nation’s wild and scenic rivers.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
