RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Joel Edward Theriault was celebrated Friday afternoon, Aug. 9, at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, Rumford, with the Rev. Greg Dube as celebrant.
Altar server was Bernard Poirier and organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Over The Rainbow,” “Hosea,” “In The Garden,” “Because the Lord Is My Shepherd” and “Fly Like a Bird.” A reading from the old testament was presented by his sister, Shelly Lord, and brother, Jason Theriault, and from the new testament by his aunt, Bev Theriault. Words of remembrance were given by his aunt, Mary Theriault. The gifts were presented by all his nieces and nephews.
Committal services were conducted by the Rev. Greg Dube at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Military honors were conducted by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella followed in the parish hall of the church. Pallbearers were Josh Boyden, James Wardack, Scott Theriault, Scott Organek, Troy Lord and Steve Milledge. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader and Son Funeral Home, Rumford.
