1921 – 2013
FARMINGTON — Florence F. Wright, 91, of Jay, died in the early morning hours on Thursday, Aug. 15, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in New Gloucester, a daughter of Elroy and Hazel (Briggs) Francis. Florence was a graduate of Dirigo High School and in March 1948, married Arthur Wright. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Prior to the debilitating illness of Charcot Marie Tooth Syndrome, she always enjoyed dancing. Other favorite hobbies included baking and gardening. She loved to tease others in a good-natured way and will be remembered for her gifts of humor and laughter, qualities that helped her cope with difficult situations and brought joy to others.
She is survived by four children, Bryan Francis Wright and his wife, Rita, of Mims, Fla., Stuart E. Wright and his companion, Joan Kaler, of Jay, Carolyn Frost and her husband, Terrance, of Dixfield and Sherrill Bean and her husband, Terrance, of Jay; one sister, Christine Huffman of Limerick; 14 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, on April 13, 2010; a grandson, Michael Francis; and siblings, Omar, Harry, Quimby, Harland and Bernice Francis and Alice Whittemore.
