LEWISTON — The nonprofit organization Women, Work, and Community will offer a six-week online course on career planning for men and women starting in October.
The free course is for those who have Internet access and are looking for a career planning class with flexible hours, where you can work at your own pace, with no requirement for attending a live class.
The course materials and guided instruction will review participants’ skills, interests and experiences, and relate them to occupations; identify educational opportunities; research the local job market; and develop a step-by-step plan to achieve goals.
It is meant for the unemployed, underemployed or those considering a career change. Participants of the class will do weekly assignments and connect with the instructor and classmates in online discussion boards, conference calls and more.
The class will run from Oct. 14 to Nov. 22 with a registration deadline of Sept. 27. To register or for more information contact Cathy Collins at 753-6622 or [email protected]. For more information on Women, Work, and Community visit www.womenworkandcommunity.org.
