Air Force Maj. Dustin R. Ireland has completed a course of study of national security policy information at U.S. Naval War College, Newport, R.I.

Students studied military, economic, scientific, political and other topics, which effect the development of national security policy and strategy. Classes consisted of senior officers from all branches of service, including civilian executives from various government agencies. Attendees were selected for their performance and future potential.

Ireland has served in the military for 12 years. He is the son of Polly Murphy of Windham, and Leroy Ireland of Farmington.

Ireland graduated in 1997 from Mt. Blue High School, Farmington, and received a bachelor of science in 2001 from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
