OXFORD  An early morning car crash sent a local woman to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Oxford Police.

Holly Piirainen, 37, of Oxford, was traveling North on Allen Hill Road around 6:38 a.m. when she lost control of a 2012 Hyundai and rolled it over, according to Oxford police Sgt. Alan Coffin.

Piirainen was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The vehicle rolled twice before coming to rest on its side on the opposite side of the street, Coffin said.

Piirainen was transported to Stevens Memorial Hospital for injuries to her face and a complaint of pain, Coffin said.

The crash is still under investigation, but Coffin said Piirainen was not suspected to be operating under the influence and he did not believe speed was a factor in the accident.

According to Coffin the Huyndai was totaled in the accident.
