SACO — A 58-year-old man died after a car accident Friday morning, said Saco police.
Wilbur L. Parker Jr. of East Waterboro was driving a gray 2004 Ford Expedition that apparently left the road and struck a tree, said Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland. The accident occurred about 6:45 a.m. near 219 Jenkins Road.
The road was closed to traffic while police reconstructed and investigated the crash, Holland said, also noting that Parker’s vehicle had heavy front end damage.
Witnesses told police that Parker’s vehicle appeared to “just run off the roadway,” police said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine if an autopsy is warranted, while the Saco Police Department’s accident reconstruction team is working to determine what happened.
