LEWISTON — Elizabeth Marie Dostie, 84, of Winthrop, died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 20, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
She was born in Winthrop on July 27, 1929, the daughter of Dolor and Marie (Lajoie) Dostie. Elizabeth graduated from Winthrop High School and soon after began working for Albany Felt. She worked as a re-winder.
She was known as an incredibly kind person who always put others first. She also had a great love for animals. Elizabeth was a volunteer at Clover Manor for more than 20 years. She enjoyed many crafts, including crocheting. She was a person who loved to go fishing.
She is survived by her brothers, Rosaire Dostie of Greene and Joseph Dostie of Sebring, Fla.; a sister, Dolores Keptchar and her husband, Michael, of Stamford, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents; several infant siblings; brothers, Gerard Dostie and Leo Dostie; and a sister, Clara Rheaume.
