1933 – 2013

West Poland — Robert D. Meserve of West Poland went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 20.

He was born in Portland on Sept. 11, 1933, the son of George and Marianne (Rafter) Meserve. Bob, as he was known to his friends and family, was a master plumber, electrician and an all-around handyman.

Bob was employed at Agassiz Village in West Poland for 35 years, until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed candlepin bowling, playing horseshoes and watching all New England sports teams on television. His greatest joys were his family and pets Critter, Smokey, Angel and Teddy.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Meserve of West Poland; his children, Donnie (Shirley) Meserve, Darlene (Calvin) Buker, Kathy (Mike) Gould of Poland, Ginger Morin, Bonnie Wood, Cliff (Michelle) Meserve, Beverly (Ray) Wells of Auburn, Mary Guy and fiancé, David Larrivee, of Lewiston and Scott (Maria) of Peabody, Mass. Bob also had 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
