1935 – 2013

LOWELL, Mass. —Claudette Carbonneau, 78, formerly of Lewiston, died late Wednesday evening, Aug. 21, at Fairhaven Health Center in Lowell following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, April 19, 1935, the daughter of Henri and Anna (Bureau) Carbonneau. She was a member of the Class of 1953 at Lewiston High School. Following her education worked as a secretary at the former CMVTI in Auburn for over 20 years. Following retirement, Claudette joined the Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate on March 4, 1972, as a lay person. She then moved to Lowell in 2004 to live and also manage the Oblate District House until her illness. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include one brother, H. Paul Carbonneau and his wife, Lauretta, of Lewiston; three sisters, Therese Bernard of Hollywood, Fla., Lucille Ficaro and husband, Sal, of Avon, Conn. and Sister Carmen Carbonneau of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam, Conn.; and also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
