MOOSEHEAD JUNCTION TOWNSHIP — A New Jersey man suffered shoulder and rib injuries when he accidentally rolled his all-terrain vehicle Thursday on a trail, officials said.

Daniel L. Kerr, 57, of Pennsauken, N.J., was driving an ATV he rented in Greenville on a trail to Shirley when he hit large rocks that caused his vehicle to turn onto its right side shortly after noon, said Doug Rafferty, a spokesman for the Maine Warden Service.

First on-scene, Game Warden John Lonergan found Kerr, Kerr’s wife and son. A CA Dean ambulance and Greenville Fire Department firefighters helped transport Kerr to Mayo Regional Hospital for treatment, Rafferty said.

The three riders were wearing helmets. No charges are expected, Rafferty said.

Information on Kerr’s condition was not available Thursday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
