OGUNQUIT (AP) — A search for a missing fisherman in the waters off Ogunquit has turned into a recovery mission.

The Maine Marine Patrol is searching for the body Billy McIntire, who failed to return from a late-night swim near Perkins Cove.

The Coast Guard was notified at 11:55 p.m. Thursday that only one of two fishermen who’d been swimming off of the 42-foot fishing vessel Clover was able to climb back aboard.

Coast Guard Station sent a rescue boat, diverted a cutter to the area and launched a helicopter. The Portland Press Herald reports that the Coast Guard and Marine Patrol stopped their search at sunset on Friday after more than 20 hours.
