1917 – 2013

AUBURN — Dorothy Elizabeth Lobozzo, 96, of Auburn passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, after a short illness and with her children at her side softly singing some of her favorite hymns, Dorothy went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband, Alex.

She was born Dorothy Elizabeth Huff on Aug. 8, 1917, in Lewiston, the daughter of Antoinette Anctil Huff and Arthur Huff.

She married Alexander Lobozzo on Aug. 29, 1942, and together they raised five children. Dorothy was a faithful wife, devoted mother and loving grammy. She was always the life of the party and loved being surrounded by her family. Besides being an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and one heck of a fisherman, she loved to play pinochle with her favorite partner and adopted daughter, Jan.

She devoted 25 years of her life to the ministry at Eastgate Christian Fellowship as a pastor’s wife. At 85 years old, she was convinced to stop volunteering four days a week in the office of Eastgate Christian School and take time to enjoy her retirement years.

She is survived by her five children, Judy Dow and husband, Tom, Vincent Lobozzo and wife, Pat, Suzanne Bowman and husband, Lewellyn, Maria Michaud, Joanne Giasson and husband, Ron; and 51 grandchildren.

Our most sincere thanks to Oddfellows Home of Maine for providing a safe and happy home for our Mom over the past three years. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Austin and the staff at The Hospice House who provided such wonderful care and compassion to Mom and kindness to our family.
