1935 – 2013
WINTHROP — Francis E. “Frank” Watson, 78, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully after a long illness, with his family at his side on Saturday, Aug. 31.
He was born on May 1, 1935, in Milford, Mass., the son of the late Arthur F. and Blanche (Poirier) Watson. He attended schools in Milford and excelled in football.
He began his early career as a barber in Cape Cod, Mass., and progressed to a career as a builder in Massachusetts and Maine, and retired as a foreman with the Cianbro Corp. He also served as an EMT with Poland Spring Rescue.
Never an idle man, he was always working on his own projects or those of friends and family. With his work ethic and habit of “doing things right,” he was an excellent role model for his family. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Ronda; sisters, Joyce Christakis of Sabattus and Mary Anne DiVittorio of Casper, Wyo.; son, Arthur F. (Donna) of Derry, N.H.; daughters, Brenda (Nate) Frost of Leeds, Joette Neville of Cape Cod, Mass., and Allison (Rob) Kyser of Knob Knoster, Mo.; stepdaughters, Lynn Roth of Van Nuys, Calif., and Ruth Butler of Marionville, Mo.; nephews, Tony and Andrew Christakis; and nieces, Rhonda Hill and Nancy Ouellette. He leaves 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Central Maine Medical Center and the Androscoggin Hospice House for their excellent care of Frank during his last days.
