Snowmobile club first meet of year

MEXICO — The Mexico Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. All are welcome to the first meeting of the year.

Sammie Angel concert rescheduled

DIXFIELD —  The free Sammie Angel concert at Dixfield Village Green, 55 Main St., has been rescheduled to Friday Sept. 6, with a rain date of Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event is sponsored by the Dixfield Economic Development Council. Bring chairs or blankets and snacks.

Preschool Story Time at Rumford Public Library

RUMFORD —  The weekly story times in the Rumford Public Library children’s room will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 5. Area youngsters age 2 to 5 are invited to attend the preschool story times, at 10 a.m. every Wednesday.

Children who attend will have stories, songs, and activities, as well as make a take-home craft that reflects the week’s theme. Story times will not be held during school vacations or in the event of school cancellations.

Acoustic concert at Rumford church

RUMFORD —  An acoustic concert featuring songs performed by Peter Koch and Andy St. Pierre will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the Parish of the Holy Savior Church Hall.

Music will be from a variety of artists and genres. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for 12 and under.

A family discount is available for two adults and two children for $15, plus $3 for each additional child.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Holy Savior School, Hair Design or Davis Florist. Proceeds benefit the Holy Savior School.

Pathfinder club holding bottle drive

DIXFIELD —  Mt. Blue Moccasins Pathfinder Club will hold a bottle drive Sunday, Sept. 8.

Club members will collect bottles and cans to raise money to attend the International Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh, Wisc., in August 2014.

Members will pick up bottles in the Dixfield-Peru area. Bottles and cans may also be dropped off at 58 Pine St., Dixfield. For bottle pick-up, call 357-8484.

Class to hold monthly luncheon

MEXICO —  The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Far East Restaurant for a luncheon and meeting.
