1917 – 2013

AUBURN — Irene D. Marcotte, 95, formerly of 21 Jeannette Ave., Lewiston, died on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Schooner Estates, where she had been a resident for the past six years.

Born in Lewiston on Sept. 20, 1917, she was the daughter of Horace O. and Rose Vermette Despres. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’36. Irene worked as a bookkeeper, retiring from Maine Family Credit Union in 1979. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish.

She is survived by three sons, Paul Levesque and wife, Ida, of Lewiston, Pierre Levesque and wife, Jeannine, of Conway, N.H., and Michel Levesque and wife, Bettylou, of Lewiston; a daughter, Rosemarie and husband, Thomas Goodwin, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by four husbands, Henry J.B. Levesque, Lorenzo Perron, Paul Michaud and Lucien Marcotte; a son, Gerard Levesque; and a sister, Gilberte Pratt Aube.
