NORWAY — Oxford Hills SCORE and the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce will present a program and discussion on hiring employees from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Norway Town Office, 19 Danforth St.
Coffee will be available at 7:45 a.m. with the round table starting promptly at 8 a.m.
Hiring the right employees is an art rather than a science but the best employees will help a business make more money. When hiring employees, an employer must obtain an Employer Identification Number, set up records for withholding taxes, verify employee eligibility (Form I-9), obtain workers’ compensation insurance, file quarterly tax returns (Form 941), provide W-2 forms annually, set up personnel files, distinguish between employee and independent contractor, pay regularly, define job responsibilities and supervise.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring their experiences and concerns around hiring employees to discuss in a round table format and learn from business peers.
