Mount Vernon Artist Jackie Berry whose “Blue on Blue” is shown here,  will exhibit her work at SugarWood Gallery in Farmington.

FARMINGTON — Mount Vernon Artist Jackie Berry will exhibit her work at SugarWood Gallery during the month of Sept. An open house reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at 248 Broadway. The public is invited.

Berry is a Maine native who has spent several years living in the greater Augusta area. In the early 1990s she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where she was influenced by the colors and scenery of the Southwest. She developed an interest in acrylics using palette knives to mix colors and lay on texture.

The paintings on display at SugarWood are from her Inner and Outer World Collection. The inner worlds are expressed through a love of flowers while the outer worlds are influenced by images from the Hubble Space Telescope and her imagination.
