Mt. Blue Garden Club to host speaker

FARMINGTON — Russell Black, owner of Black Acres in Wilton, has been invited to speak at the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 612 Farmington Falls Road.

Russell will explain the techniques of “The Modern Sugar Bush” to members and guests.

Hostesses providing desserts and beverages will be Kay Seefeldt, Loraine Norton and Wanetta Nurse. Club President Amy Palmer will conduct the business meeting.

AARP to conduct driver safety program

FARMINGTON —  AARP will offer a driver safety program from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 612 Farmington Falls Road.

The class is a refresher course designed for drivers age 50 and over. Cost is $14. There is a $2 discount for AARP members.
