LEWISTON —  “A Consumer’s Guide to Foot and Ankle Pain” is the subject of a special presentation set for Monday, Sept. 9, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Orthopaedic surgeons James Timoney, DO, and Michael Saraydarian, DPM, FACFAS, will discuss options for treatment and prevention of common causes of foot and ankle pain and discomfort.

Timoney is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, with a special emphasis on foot and ankle surgery. He has experience in a broad spectrum of problems from sports injuries and occupational injuries to developmental and degenerative problems. Surgical and non-operative modalities are used to optimize the return to function.

Saraydarian is a board-certified podiatrist who is devoted to progressive and modern surgical techniques for foot, hind foot, and ankle deformities in adult and pediatric patients. He specializes in Ilizarov techniques, and spatial fixation, and additionally treats the diabetic foot ranging from monitoring to reconstructive and preservative procedures to resolve ulceration. He joined Central Maine Orthopaedics in 2009.

Both practice with Central Maine Orthopaedics (CMO) at 690 Minot Ave., Auburn.

“A Consumer’s Guide to Foot and Ankle Pain” will be offered on from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chairmen’s Rooms on the lower level of the 12 High Street medical office building.

The presentation is being sponsored by the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Maine, a partnership of Central Maine Medical Center and Central Maine Orthopaedics.
