LISBON FALLS — The 2013 Worumbo Blues Festival-Revue, presented by the Maine Blues Festival and the Railroad Restaurant and Tavern will be held from 2-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Railroad Restaurant and Tavern.

Six Maine-based blues acts involving over two dozen musicians will perform throughout the day.

All proceeds from the event go to the Maine Blues Musicians’ Scholarship which will go to a graduating senior from the Lisbon High School class of 2014. The scholarship is unique because it goes directly from the musicians’ performance to the recipient.

The festival is a family-friendly, rain or shine event. Admission is $10, children 12 and under are free. The Railroad Restaurant will feature a special barbecue venue all day.

Denny Breau

Legendary guitar master Denny Breau is the gold-standard by which other guitarists measure themselves. His recording credits include numerous albums by national blues acts, and he is one of the most in-demand guitar teachers in the state.

Pam Baker

Pam Baker has pulled audiences in with a dynamic and original take on playing the blues. Baker has the ability to fill a room and thrill crowds with her mega blues voice while bringing fans into a closer and more intimate feel as she works the crowd, singing to friends and strangers alike.

Matt and the Barnburners

Matt Bilodeau has been a longtime fixture in the Maine blues scene, backing up other Maine blues acts on harp and vocals. He brings to the stage an absolute passion and sincere commitment to the blues that is irresistible.

What do you get when you team up three Bath Iron Works employees with three other seasoned musicians? Blues In the Works. With a triple-threat guitar section, this group has an “in your face” style. The line-up features Sue Beauchenes, Pay Hynes, Keith Hart, Ed Eldredge, Jim Palmer and Larry Beauchenes.

The Blind Lemons

The Blind Lemons were there at the beginning of the blues scene at the now legendary Raoul’s Roadside Attraction. Comprised of seasoned bluesmen Bub Lynch, Tommy Renino, Don Whitcomb and Jim Racine this awesome band has always been greater than the sum of its parts.

Blue Steel Express

The Express will rock the tent in a wide-ranging blues revue showcase. Formed in 1993, the Express is comprised of Kevin Kimball, Deb Danuski, Bub Lynch and Don Whitcomb. The band features tight arrangements of blues standards and original material.
