1934 – 2013

AUBURN — Cecile P. Levasseur, 78, formerly of 30 Allen Ave. in Lewiston, passed away Friday, Sept.6, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice after a brief stay.

She was born in Auburn, Dec. 23, 1934, daughter of the late Tancrede and Rose Blouin Pomerleau. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married to George J.P. Levasseur on June 29, 1957. George predeceased her in 1992.

Cecile was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul and enjoyed bowling, attending the annual balloon festival, traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially Bunny, whom Cecile enjoyed many trips with and loved animals especially the family dogs.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Haugen and husband, Wallace “Bud”, of Lewiston; two sons, Roger Levasseur and wife, Michelle, of Richmond, Va., Gerard Levasseur and wife, Yvette, of Durham; seven grandchildren, Kristopher, Jennifer, Patricia, Kyle, Travis, Kassandra and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Madison Ann Marie and Karsyn Diane: a sister-in-law, Georgette Ranauro of Falmouth, Mass.; a brother-in-law, Maurice Levasseur and wife, Sue, of Lewiston; and one niece and three nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Paul Levasseur in 1977; and a sister, Rita Sargent, in 2009.
