FALMOUTH — The public is invited the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Cumberland County Extension Association to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, starting at 6 p.m. at the UMaine Regional Learning Center. The theme for this year’s meeting is “100 Years of 4-H.”

Cumberland County Commissioner James Cloutier will speak to the longevity of the partnership that UMaine Extension has with Cumberland County and the importance of UMaine Extension as the educational arm of Cumberland County Government. 4-H’ers of several generations will share their personal 4-H experiences.

A light meal of vegetable soup will be served prior to the meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost. Dessert will be the delicious results of the annual Pie Bake-Off.

The group will recognize specific UMaine Extension Master Gardener, Master Food Preserver, Homemaker, 4-H and Eat Well volunteers at the event. This year’s Friend of Extension will be presented to Marge Steele, in honor of her late husband Norm Steele.

Anybody with a favorite pie recipe is invited to enter the bake-off. All recipes will become part of the UMaine Extension Cookbook.
