Oak Hill 1, Telstar 0
WALES —  Hayley Marshall converted a feed from Lexi Fuller just two minutes into the contest to give Oak Hill a 1-0 victory over Telstar in an MVC girls’ soccer tilt Wednesday.

Abby Fuller needed just three saves to post the shutout. Hali Barter turned aside an impressive 21 shots for the Rebels (1-2).

Spruce Mountain 8, St. Dom’s 0
AUBURN —  Randi Duguay led a group of seven players to register goals Tuesday as Spruce Mountain overpowered St. Dom’s 8-0 in KVAC field hockey action Wednesday.

Duguay led the Phoenix (2-0-1) with two goals, while Kayla Meserve, Nicole Hamblin, Emily Hogan, Brooke Cushing, Vicky Ouellette and Morgan Fournier also tallied to complete the scoring.

Kasey Richards needed only three saves to notch the shutout, while Taylor Bergeron turned aside 14 shots for the Saints (0-3).

Lisbon 4, Dirigo 1
LISBON —  After a scoreless first half, Lisbon came out with fire in its eyes and proceeded to record a 4-1 win over Dirigo in a field hockey game Wednesday.

Hanna Jordan led the Greyhounds (2-0-1) with two goals, while Nichole Jones and Olivia Harrington also tallied.

Brittany Lapointe scored for the Cougars early in the second frame. Stevie Charest made two saves for Lisbon, while Amanda Dolloff turned aside eight shots for Dirigo.

Soccer

Madison 5, Telstar 0
BETHEL —   Kayla Bess netted a pair of goals Wednesday as Madison hustled to a 5-0 romp over Telstar in an MVC girls’ soccer matchup. 

Madeline Wood, Whitney Lloyd and Kirsten Wood also tallied for the Bulldogs (2-0) to complete the scoring.

Savanna Kandiko made two saves to post the shutout, while Tehya Johnson (10) and Mallory Corriveau (10) combined to turn back 20 shots for the Rebels (0-2).

Lisbon 1, Winthrop 0
LISBON —  Deliah Schriber scored on a penalty stroke with 17:52 left in the first half to give Lisbon a 1-0 win over Winthrop.

The game was called complete at halftime due to a forfeit by Winthrop. The Ramblers (0-2) had several athletes affected by the extreme heat that hit central Maine on Wednesday. 

Alexandra Salt made one save for the Greyhounds (1-2), while Chrissy Doughty turned back 13 shots for Winthrop.

Traip 3, Buckfield 2 (2OT)
BUCKFIELD — Katie Cuttle scored her second goal with two minutes left in the second overtime period to lift Traip to a 3-2 win over Buckfield.

After a 1-1 deadlock at the break, Traip’s offense hit high gear. Cecilia Driscoll also tallied for Traip to complete their final tally.

Bri Damon scored twice for the Bucks (2-1) in a solid effort. Lynn Moore made 17 saves for Traip, while Arrabine Dunn turned back 14 shots for Buckfield.

Spruce Mountain 1, Mountain Valley 0
JAY —  Megan Duval converted a nice pass from Hayley Doyen in the closing minutes of regulation to give Spruce Mountain a 1-0 victory over Mountain Valley.

Veteran keeper Emily Keene made 12 saves for the Phoenix to preserve the shutout. Karen Flaherty turned back 22 shots between the posts for Mountain Valley.

Oak Hill 2, Mt. Abram 1
SALEM —  Megan Crosby netted a goal with 25:12 remaining in regulation to lift Oak Hill to a narrow 2-1 win over Mt. Abram in KVAC girls’ soccer action Wednesday.

Sarenah Lariviere converted a feed from Emma Houston to tally for the Roadrunners (1-1).

Kelsey Collins made three saves for Oak Hill, while Alie Lopez also turned back three shots for Mt. Abram.

Spruce Mountain 1, Mountain Valley 0

JAY — Despite 60 minutes of heat, Megan Duval found a way to score the winning goal in the second half, giving Spruce Mountain a 1-0 victory over Mountain Valley in a girls’ soccer game Wednesdayn.

Duval used Hayley Doyen assist to scored the game winner. The Phoenix outshot the Falcons, 26-12 and Emily Keene made 12 saves to preserve the shutout.
