PARIS — The State Veterans Home is set to receive more than a half million dollars in federal funds to renovate the High Street facility.

According to a news release from Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King, the home will receive $598,827 from the Department of Veteran Affairs. The grant will be used to help cover renovation costs for the facility’s heating units, patio and flooring, according to the release.

“Maine’s veterans deserve nothing but the highest quality of care, and providing outstanding rehabilitative facilities is central to that important mission,” the senators wrote in the joint statement.

Located on High Street in South Paris, the 90-bed home was built in 1995, one of six multi-service veteran facilities in Maine.
