1921 – 2013
RUMFORD — Mary A. Wilson, 92, longtime resident of Peru, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, at Rumford Hospital with loving family at her side.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1921, in Readfield, a daughter of Vern and Ethel (Noyes) Hardy.
Mary was educated in Farmington schools and graduated from South Lancaster Academy in South Lancaster, Mass.
She was employed for many years as a private duty home health aide and for several years was a teacher’s aide in Dixfield.
Mary was a member of the Carthage Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved cooking for family and friends, oil painting, quilting, crafting and basket weaving.
Surviving are her children, Verne C. Wilson and wife, Nola, of Gardner, Mass., M. Clayton Wilson and wife, Joanne, of Baldwinville, Mass., Mary Lou Merchant and husband, Robert, of Peru, and Katherine E. Hutchinson and husband, Carroll, of Peru; sister-in-law, Linda Wilson of Lancaster, Mass.; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Myrle C. Wilson; a son, Everett R. Wilson; three sisters, Pauline, Esther and Edith; and three brothers, Leo, Norman and Everett.
