1957 – 2013
NORWAY — Gary L. Tibbetts, 55, a lifelong resident of Oxford, died Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Norway on Oct. 30, 1957, the son of Bertrand Tibbetts Sr., and Beverly Durgin Tibbetts. He had worked at A.C. Lawrence and later owned and operated Tibbetts Excavation for 25 years. He served on the planning board for the town of Oxford.
Gary was an avid sportsman and loved most anything that took him outdoors. He enjoyed racing, hunting, four-wheeling, camping and playing cribbage. He coached basketball, football, baseball and softball.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Oxford; a daughter, Trista Tibbetts Hall and her husband, Randall; a son, Tate Tibbetts; two grandchildren, Layla Hall and Hyla Hall; a brother, Bertrand Tibbetts Jr., and his wife, Penny; nieces and nephews, Tracy Tibbetts, Kimberly Paul, Jeni, Colby, Tyler, Travis, Olivia and Tripp; and the Linscott family.
