FARMINGTON — A service of remembrance and resurrection for William H. Hoyt Sr., was held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Farmington, with the Rev. Walter R. Brown officiating.

Sandra L. Hoyt was the organist. The congregation sang “For All The Saints” and Journey Home offered special music, “Life’s a Railway to Heaven.” New Testament scripture was 1 Corinthians 15:35-44. William H. Hoyt Jr., and Lori Grassette offered special music, “When the Mountains Cry” and “Wayfaring Stranger.” The scripture lesson was from Hebrews 12:1-2, followed by words of remembrance by the Rev. Brown. Grandson, William H. Hoyt III, played a violin solo, “Amazing Grace.” His son, Steven Hoyt, offered a personal eulogy, followed by a musical video presentation from the grandchildren in Africa titled, “Be Thou My Vision.” Sarah Martin, on behalf of the Trinity Family, offered words of remembrance and presented Steven with a baseball signed by his dad, his little league coach. The Trinity Choir sang “Amazing Grace” and “My Chains are Gone.”

Following the benediction, a comfort meal was provided by the Trinity Parish Hospitality Committee in the church vestry. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.
