MEXICO — The Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer three, two-hour workshops in October at Rumford/Mexico Region 9, Adult Ed.
They are from 6 to 8 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays.
The first workshop Oct. 3 is about managing money. A “Money Habitude” card game developed by Sybil Solomon teaches how a person’s habits and attitudes toward money affect decisions and actions related to money. Attendees will use the results as a starting point for thinking about how a person can become more comfortable managing money.
The Oct. 10 workshop will be on budgeting basics. Attendees will learn the basic components for building a budget and discuss money tracking, goal setting, challenges, ways to reduce expenses and how understanding one’s overall financial situation can be helpful in creating a budget that works.
The Oct. 17 workshop is to help attendees have a better understanding of credit. Basic concepts of credit, strategies for reducing debt, credit reports and credit scores will be discussed.
Registration is required for each workshop. For more information on Women, Work, and Community or to register for the workshop, call Janet Smith at 778-2757, or visit our Web site for more information: www.womenworkandcommunity.org.
