Speaker on marriage equality

NORWAY — The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Norway will welcome Dr. Phil Richardson at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, when he offers a service titled “Marriage Equality … our personal pathway.”

He writes, “It has been, and continues to be, a bumpy road to marriage equality for Michael and me. All of us who have struggled to advance marriage equality are forced from time to time to pause and wonder, Is all this effort really worth it? Why bother? With mixed gender marriage struggling to hold people together around 50 percent of the time and constant news of spousal abuse, abandonment and even murder, we are forced to question whether marriage equality really is worth the struggle. Why not just live together, love together, raise children together and have a life together and be happy? The answer is found in with a fuller investigation of love. With this expanded understanding of a love built upon trust the answer concerning marriage equality is a resounding yes.”

The church is at 479 Main St. Childcare is provided and social hour follows the service.
